Specifications For DuraLoop
Preformed Loops

DuraLoop's preformed loops are designed to be used in all types of applications:

Construction process - The loop is made up of one continuous wire. 6' x 6' or larger loops come standard with 3 turns of wire, smaller loops have 4 turns of wire (smaller gauge wire may be substituted in loops with 4 or more turns). Loops are designed with excess wire in them to accommodate expansion and contraction. Loop lead-in wire is twisted a minimum of 3 times per foot to assure no false detection. Loop lead-in includes 5' of wire extended past the casing. Extra wire is available upon request. Loop casing is injected with asphalt rubber as a sealant to prevent the entrance of water and the movement of wires within the conduit.

Asphalt overlays: Loops are attached to an
existing road or subbase and paved over.

Concrete pours: Loops are attached to re-bar
before concrete is poured.

Existing roads: a 1/2" x 2" slot is cut in an existing roadway. Loops are then sealed into the slots.

General Description - 16-gauge TFFN wire is encased in a 1/2" OD Nylon 11/Tube/ Nylon casing which is then injected with an asphalt rubber compound.

Wire - 16-gauge TFFN standard.

Customization: Loops can be ordered in any size, shape or style:

Loop casing -
Nylon 11 - Approximate weight 3.80 per 100 foot
OD 1/2", ID .275", wall .05"

Rectangular
Quadruples
Round
Square

Diamond
Assemblies of
  2, 3 or 4 loops

Tees - Black/white polypropylene tees. Locking tees guarantee no seperation.

Asphalt - Rubberized asphalt protects wire from any physical damage.

Loops can be wired separately or in a series.

Home runs can be ordered in any length and are sealed to prevent water absorption. Outside
diameter is 1/2" and is flexible enough to be coiled up into a junction box.

Detection - Detection height is determined by one half the distance of the shortest leg of a loop. Variables apply, i.e.: steel in concrete, etc.

Warranty: DuraLoop comes with a ten-year
warranty against any manufacturer defect.
